Visit to UNESCO
UNESCO invited the participants of the “Management of Protected Areas” course and they gladly accepted. They used the opportunity to do one module of the course in the noble Palazzo Zorzi in Venice. Apart from the concentrated training programme (“project management”, “communication” or “thesis”), there were many possibilities for a cappuccino or two on a busy piazza, for visits to exquisite sights or a gondola trip on the Canale Grande.
The director of the Venice office, Engelbert Ruoss, and his team welcomed the participants of the course who had the possibility to spend a whole day getting firsthand experience of UNESCO’s work. An excursion through the lagoons of Venice rounded off the programme.
