Holiday Programme
Wintery trip to Millstatt
Six participants of the MSc course on “Management of Protected Areas” come from Africa and are staying in Klagenfurt for the time of the course. They are very interested in getting to know the nature and customs of their host country. Students Ayele, Berihun (ET) and John (UG) were invited by family Jungmeier to visit Lake Millstättersee over the Christmas holidays. They marvelled at a genuine Carinthian Christmas tree, tried home-made Christmas cookies and had the exclusive pleasure of enjoying a stereo-slide show presented by Heinz Jungmeier.
The highlight of the programme was a trip to Millstätter Alm that was covered in freshly fallen snow. It was the first time the three students from Africa had seen snow. Even more exotic for them were, of course, the sledges that they were given to toboggan down from Schwagerhütte mountain lodge. A day clearly enjoyed by everyone involved!
