For all those who do not want to graduate in a two-years academic study, but are interested in deepening their knowledge in financing protected areas, we offer the focal seminar „Protected Areas, Business Planning & Financing” in autumn. The actuality of this topic has dramatically increased since public funds are cut while problems such as loss of biodiversity, climate change or new participative approaches are challenging the management more than ever. “We are happy that we succeeded in having Dr. Franics Vorhies as well experienced trainer for our seminar“, commented Daniel Zollner. “The economist, founder and director of the not-for-profit professional network Earthmind has more than 20 years of international experience in building biodiversity businesses, designing new market-based mechanisms for biodiversity finance, and giving lectures in financing protected areas or strategic NGO development”.
The seminar addresses practitioners and experts in the field of protected areas management. Participants will learn about principles, tools and good practice of financing protected areas sustainably. There will be sufficient time to refer to individual situations and address personal needs of the participants. The seminar will take place from 8 until 10 September 2013 at the University of Klagenfurt. It will be hold in English language. The course fee amount to 970 €, including the costs for the trainer, seminar facilities, materials, and the meals. In case you would like to participate, please register until 20 August 2013, at the latest (see invitation and registration attached). Any questions on the seminar are answered by Daniel Zollner (email@example.com).
