PROCEEDINGS VI: PARKS 3.0 - PROTECTED AREAS FOR THE NEXT SOCIETY
In the sixth volume of the series "Proceedings in the Management of Protected Areas" european experts analyse the future of protected areas in the 21st century. According to this book, the national parks, World Heritage sites and conservation areas of the future will take on a range of functions, which will go far beyond their current responsibilities. Taking 23 hypotheses as a point of departure, this book discusses and illuminates the prospects, contradictions and problem areas with which protected areas will be faced in the coming decades.

PROCEEDINGS V: KNOWLEDGE, PARKS AND CULTURES - TRANSCULTURAL EXCHANGE OF KNOWLEDGE IN PROTECTED AREAS: CASE STUDIES FROM AUSTRIA AND NEPAL
The fifth volume of the series “Proceedings in the Management of Protected Areas” entitled “Knowledge, Parks and Cultures” is the result of a two year research project adressing the issues of transferability and exchangeability of the contents and the structure of the master programme.
By means of detailed analyses in four protected areas, the book provides an insight into the similarities and cultural differences of protected area management bodies in Austria and Nepal, and follows the question how relevant knowledge can be exchanged across different cultures. The results are supposed to contribute to the global discussion on joint educational structures and exchange of knowledge in the field of protected area management.

The second volume of the series "Proceedings in the Management of Protected Areas", is the book "People, Parks and Money - Stakeholder involvement and regional development: a manual for protected areas", which emphasises regional development and stakeholder involvement along the “life-cycle” of protected areas and that additionally has a focus on the European perspective of managing protected areas.

Proceedings I: Improving Protected Areas
This is the final version of the first volume of our "Proceedings in the Management of Protected Areas" series, compiling the works of the first MSc programme from 2005 until 2007.
