Forest study Mürzer Oberland

“The Mürzer Oberland Nature Park is characterised by woods, gentle mountain pastures and picturesque, wild and romantic valleys” (http://www.naturparke.at/de/Naturparke/Steiermark/Muerzer_Oberland). The Mürzer Oberland nature park is located in the north-eastern part of Styria, along the border to Lower Austria. The project involves the development of basic principles for site-specific and sustainable forest management of the relatively young nature park, always taking the interests of all stakeholders into consideration. Starting from field mapping of the location, a model of the climax vegetation will be created, and on the basis of this model the potential natural woodland vegetation will be determined and presented at a scale of 1:50.000.
