High End Technologies in the Management of Protected Areas

Within this project, E.C.O. investigated the need for high end technologies and the opportunities for using them in the management of protected areas. Detailed surveys provided an insight into how far such technologies exist in the administrative bodies of the protected areas and to what extent they are used in the management of protected areas. The project team discussed the results in a number of workshops together with specialists from the technology sector and members of the administration staff of the protected areas. The participants tried to move closer to the goal of in future offering precisely those technical solutions which are tailored to the special requirements of the management of protected areas.
